ScreenEze is a professional-grade screen framing system that produces a clean, finished look without exposed fasteners or visible spline channels. Acumen Renovations is a certified ScreenEze installer serving Kansas City and the surrounding metro. We have installed ScreenEze systems across the area for years and know exactly how to get the best result from the product on any existing structure.
We are trained and certified to install ScreenEze systems correctly the first time. Most installations complete in one to two days with minimal disruption to your home.
Every homeowner has a different situation - existing covered deck, open patio, or starting from scratch. We work with all three and help you choose the right enclosure type for your space and budget.
The fastest and most cost-effective way to enclose an existing covered deck or porch. ScreenEze aluminium track installs directly into your existing framing. Clean finish, no visible hardware, and most jobs complete in one to two days.
Best for: Existing covered decks and porches
A fully framed screened enclosure attached to your home or free-standing in your yard. We handle the structural framing, screening, and door installation as a complete project. Can be built over an existing patio or as a new structure.
Best for: New builds and full enclosure projects
A glass-enclosed room that functions year-round in all weather. Sunrooms provide full weather protection with the feel of the outdoors. Larger investment than a screen room but significantly expands your usable living space in every season.
Best for: Year-round enclosed living space
Most ScreenEze screen room projects move from initial contact to completion in under two weeks. Here is what the process looks like.
We visit your property, measure the space, and assess the existing structure. You receive a detailed, itemised quote not a ballpark.
Choose your ScreenEze track colour - bronze or white - and screen fabric type. We have samples on hand to help you decide.
Our crew arrives with everything needed. For most ScreenEze projects we complete the full installation in one to two days with minimal disruption.
We walk through the completed project with you, answer any questions, and make sure you are fully satisfied before we leave.
Kansas City summers are beautiful but the bugs, humidity, and unpredictable weather make outdoor living uncomfortable without some kind of enclosure. A screened porch or ScreenEze screen room changes that completely.
Enjoy the outdoors without mosquitoes, flies, and other pests. Especially valuable during Kansas City summer evenings.
Extends your usable living area. A covered porch becomes a full outdoor room for entertaining, relaxing, or working.
Use the space comfortably from early spring through late fall. A sunroom extends this to year-round use.
A professionally installed screened porch or sunroom adds measurable value to your property and improves resale appeal.
The main difference is season coverage and budget. Here is a straightforward comparison to help you decide.
A screen enclosure uses mesh screens to keep insects out while letting in air and natural light. It is a three-season space - comfortable in spring, summer, and fall but not designed for winter use.
A sunroom uses glass or insulated panels instead of screens to create a fully enclosed room that functions in all weather and all seasons. It feels like an extension of your home rather than an outdoor space.
We work with homeowners across a range of budgets. The factors below are the main drivers of project cost. We cover all of these during your quote so there are no surprises.
The square footage of the space being enclosed is the primary cost driver. Larger openings require more material and more installation time.
Installing ScreenEze into an existing covered deck costs less than building new framing from scratch. We assess your existing structure at the site visit.
Standard fibreglass screen is the most economical option. TuffScreen and specialty fabrics cost more but offer better durability and UV resistance.
Adding a Gerkin aluminium storm door to your screen room increases cost slightly but significantly improves the finished look and usability of the space.
Acumen Renovations is a ScreenEze certified installer serving Kansas City, KS and the surrounding metro area including Shawnee, Overland Park, Lenexa, Olathe, and Lawrence.
In most cases, yes. ScreenEze track installs directly into existing framing - posts, beams, and fascia boards. We assess the condition of your existing structure during the site visit to confirm it is suitable. If any framing needs reinforcement first, we will tell you before you commit to anything.
Most ScreenEze screen room installations on existing covered decks take one to two days. Larger projects or those requiring new framing will take longer. We give you a specific timeline as part of your quote.
Standard screen systems use exposed spline channels and visible framing hardware. ScreenEze uses a proprietary aluminium track that produces a clean, finished appearance with no exposed fasteners. The result looks significantly more professional and holds up better over time.
It depends on the scope of work. Adding ScreenEze to an existing covered structure typically does not require a permit. Building new framing for a screened enclosure usually does. We handle permit requirements as part of your project and clarify what is needed during the quoting process.
Not directly - the structural requirements for a glass sunroom are more demanding than for a screen room. If you think you might want a sunroom in the future, it is worth discussing that upfront so we can plan the initial framing to support a conversion without having to redo foundational work.
We offer standard fibreglass screen and TuffScreen, a heavier-duty fabric that is more resistant to wind, impact, and pet damage. TuffScreen is our recommendation for households with children or pets, or for areas exposed to significant wind. We can show you samples at the site visit.
